My fiance and I are paying for our own wedding. We're having our reception at a country club with a specific minimum that we don't want to go over - if any "extra" guests show up then we automatically have to pay about $68/head. So we are trying to keep the guest list under a certain number. I've come across numerous people, mainly just acquaintances, who automatically assume that they are coming. It really puts me in an awkward position when they say "So I'm getting an invite right??" or "I can't wait to go to your wedding!". Frankly I've never made an assumption that I would be a guest at someone's wedding, so I'm a little surprised to see how many people who actually do - especially those that I'm not even good friends with!! I don't mind these people, but again we are on a budget and I'd rather have our money spent on family and good friends. How do you respond to people who have such expectations on you?

What do you think of people from Yahoo Answers (specifically Jane who asked about asexuality and masturbation) who asks questions and then when you give them an honest answer, they email you and cuss you out about it?

I personally think that they are too thin-skinned to be on Yahoo Answers.

My fiance and I are planning on getting married in the Catholic Church next summer. I was born and raised Catholic, and she was baptized Catholic but raised Protestant (long story). She is now interested in practicing the Catholic faith again. However, most of her family and a good percentage of mine are not Catholic. I have heard that if both partners are Catholic, the ceremony must be a Nuptial Mass rather than just a ceremony. We don't want to do this for a couple of reasons: 1. Certain members of her family are disappointed that she's not going to be Protestant any more, and having a Wedding Mass will just exacerbate the situation. 2. Most of the people at the wedding won't be Catholic, and we'd prefer the ceremony to be an inclusive affair rather than excluding the Protestant people from parts of the ceremony. Any insights or web resources you could give would be greatly appreciated.

Okay, well... my mother was adopted and I have no idea who her parents, siblings or anything is. A few months before my birth, my father left my mother and I've never met him. Basically, I know only 2 of my blood relatives, my little brother and my mom. I really want to meet (or at least see) my father and his sons but my mom says he's a horrible person and there is no way of tracking down his sons since most of them don't live with him and she doesn't know where he is. I don't wanna tell her that I wanna meet him because I'm afraid of what she'll think or tell me. Is there any way of finding out who he is and who my lost siblings and without my mom making a big deal about it? I've tried using websites but I don't have enough information. PLEASE HELP ME!!

People tell me I am cute all the time and wonder why i have never had a bf. I never thought I was ugly but I am slighly insecure. He is never flirty with me but he is nice to me. I am afraid to tell him because of rejection. I don't want to lose the friendship we have because of my feelings.

I am no spring chicken I am 28 years old. But I haven't had alot of experience with relationships. Should I just tell him how i feel or should I wait for him to show interest.

I have always felt that most men will show interest if they are interested romantically. I have NEVER seen any signs of interest romantically so I have always admired him in silence.

My fiance and I are big rock fans and know that mny of the songs we love are definitely not acceptable to be played with the mixed age crowd we will be having. We have some 80's music, some hippie stuff, and some classical and big band, but all we are missing is the rock that we love. What are some suggestions you have for rock songs (slow or fast) that we could play? Any suggestions would be a great help.

I came to America 3 years ago to study, hopefully next year I'll graduate and go back to my country..

My problem is I'm constantly bored, sad, worried and feeling lonely.. I'm perfectly aware that there are many nice places around me, wher I could hang out and meet new people but I can't (or I don't want to, I don't know) because I doubt my English speaking skills. I don't believe I'm happy or pretty or successfull anymore (even though my performance in classes is very good)

I met a guy in my country last year and we were going to have a long distance relationship for a while until I go back to my country.. He gave up on me and he lied when breaking up saying that he he had financial problems.. I wentfor a surprise visit and found out he had a fiance (so he broke up with me because he met someone else) and ever since I'm feeling this way... It's been a while.. I'm afraid to approach people here.. some guys asked me out but I refused because I don't even know why.. BTW I'm 21..

I drink like everyday. But i dont crave it or anything. I get plastered ever night- I dont wake up with a hang over.
I can go with out drinking, i do it every once in a while just to see...maybe i just like to get wasted after a long day @ work.
I never drink alone, my b/f drinks too. And we dont go broke to drink...

My gf has started up a friendship with an ex recently. Normally i wouldn't care but this guy was her first love, first kiss, well first everything so it makes me a little tense when they hang out togeather. I have accepted the friendship (though i don't like it he doesn't either we treat each other with a state of mutual disdain) however do people think its normal to be friends with someone they were so close to or should they just leave an ex in the past to not complicate the future
Should i make an effort to get to know this guy or just continue my state of disdain (or failing that just put his head through a wall-just kidding 8-) )

My husband and I are bill free but have reoccuring expenses such as groceries, auto insurances, phone bill, etc. He believes we should split all of these bills 50-50 as well as entertainment costs (i.e., if he buys dinner for our family one night then I should buy it the next time). This sounds reasonable I guess, but the reason I am confused is because he earns roughly 70,000 Euro per year, and I earn roughly 30,000 dollars. Is it fair that we should split everything 50-50 even though he earns more than me, or am I right to feel slighted?

I know he is depressed about several things concerning a marriage divorce that has been going on over 1 and a half years, between jobs, he doesn't seem to have much interest in things at times, I wonder some days is it me? He is a hard person to read and at times I ask and?? sometimes it worrys me. What do you think?

my husband has just come back from a sailing race he participated in on his boat. He loves this sport and was away for 6 days in total with another 6 guys. They had 2 days before the race started to go out drinking etc and although the crew ranged from 23yrs to 55 yrs I am really paranoid that they went out chatting up women etc. I know my husband probably didn't because he was back on the boat by 11.30pm and rang twice every day and said he missed me and he says he would never ever cheat on me, but I get so paranoid. I also hate the thought that they might have been talking about women in the way that guys sometimes do when they are together i.e have you seen such and such isn't she gorgeous etc etc. I wish I didn't feel like this but I hate the thought that my husband has eyes for anyone other than me. I know he was really pleased with himself over the race and I am pleased that he completed it ,but these other feelings marr my happiness for him. Advice please.

ok let me start from the begining..
i'm 14 almost 15 yrs old.
my mom and dad are divorced
my mom left my family when i was 12.
my dad just passed away may 3rd 2007
i moved in with my best friend around the corner..
i was living with her for 3 months then my bro & sis got DUI's at age 16 and 17 and had to move to arkansas with my grandma.
i decided to move out here because i thought my bro and sis and i could all stick together and be family..
we never got along when we lived together. they always ganged up on me.
ive been in arkansas not even a week and i can NOT live with my bro and sis...
it looks like it never will ever work out..
arkansas would be totally perfect for me if my brother and sister werent here..
i could finish high school and maybe even finish it early, and move to california and be happy again.

if you have any self esteem they will knock you down so you have none...

they treat you like ****...

so if you can give me advise that would be great..

Since 5 years ago, whenever my brother or sister or me make a little mistake we would get yelled at, in a such horrible and insulting way. Such as when I get good grades and then suddenly get a C because I just didn't do well, I get yelled, being told that "I will be come a dirty dog and begger, where people will spit on me and step on me." Or when my brother, who was obviously born to be a bit slow, lost his nano ipod and was yelled at for being "Clumsy and sloppy" and practically the same thing she yells at me. I tried to talk back, but she slaps me which made me think all the time ways to kill my mother. I pray about this but it had never stopped. No one outside our family knew this and it seems after my dad died one year ago it grew worse. Please help on what I should do for me and my siblings!
