due to work and other circumstances going on.. but it's like the 3rd time i've turned him down due to work! and he says it's okay but i still feel like i'm letting him down.
we've only gone out on 3 dates but we've been talking for about a month... and we're still trying to get to know each other. we're not bf/gf yet..

Just sit down with him in person and tell him how you feel. Let him know that you really do like him and really do want to go out with him that your work schedule just is wacky. If you tell him in person and show your emotions, I'm sure he'll understand. But don't do it over the phone, or IM because it's harder to see and feel your sincerity that way.
Good Luck!

Set aside an hour or so for a nice cup of coffee at the local coffee shop. Let him know how sorry you are that you haven't been able to connect with him, but you have time for a cup of coffee and would love it if could meet you there. Your treat of course! Good luck!

Call him as often as you can. Let him know you are thinking of him. If you can or he can, maybe see one another before or after work..Don't know. Just let him know that you are very interested & that due to work, it's hard. I'm sure he is disappointed but not with you but the situation...But you know, work is the problem & unless one of you can change you schedule it's just one of those obstacles..I hope you two can get through it..Seems like you two truly like one another.

Honesty is key. Set him aside and explain that you have a lot to do at work and any other details. If he's as understanding as he sounds, he'll understand. Set a date good for both of your schedules.(maybe even a couple weeks in advance)
Best of luck!

Is there a reason you can't turn him down, and give him an alternative ... like, "Sorry, I work Saturday. I don't have a day off until Tuesday." That way, he won't feel like you're turning him down and using work as an excuse.

Why don't you call him and figure out a date that would work for both of you?

sounds unfortunate. He will probably think u don't like him and move on. See if u can take a break from work one night and go with him

If you really like him then you have to come together and plan a day off so tat you can be together. If not, it ain't never gonna work.
