Never 'officially' dated or got out with anyone. I'm rather timid and for the longest time didn't have much interest in dating. Now it's all started peaking on me and I feel a bit antsy. So the question is how do I start the dating process? I don't want to come off as too desperate and just throw myself at some guy. Guys don't like clingy girls anyhow, not that I am the clingy type. I'm just a bit lonely and anxious, and never having done this before I can't help but wonder what it's like. Pathetic, I know.

ok i know that you are supposed to have baby showers for the mother traditionally, but here's the deal:
My brother(20) had a few "flings" with my mothers neighbor(20), in January, she had a beautiful baby boy, everyone assumed that the father was her current boyfriend, but after the girl and her mother started asking for money all the time he got a little aggravated and asked for a paternity test, which was negative. So then three weeks ago we learned from the mother the next likely candidate would be my little brother. He was tested and the results came back on Friday, positive! And he is warming up to the idea. He current girlfriend, of 10 months, is doing ok with it too.
We were tossing around the idea of throwing a shower for him since it is his first, and we just found out about the little fellow.
We do not intend to invite the mother as she has drug issues and would cause a scene.

So what are your thoughts on this one, Baby shower or no?

i have been drinking since i was 14 i am now 28 an i work offshore im only home 1 wk. out tha month 3 months a year an the other day i came home an got drunk i got so drunk that i couldnt remember what i did but it must have been bad cause she was mad i had a black eye an blood on my face when i woke up an she said she hit me with her weddind ring on its a carrot diamond so i went out again an got drunk an came home an got in an argument an the rest of the week went ok .an when i went back to work she called me an asked me to quit drinking should i ? o she goes to bars when im offshore an when im home she dont want to go to bars with me is that wrong

I have a 9 and 10 year old daughters.
I 'm sharing custody with their better than nothing call mom.
She cares less for them all she cares is how much money she can squeeze from me. I moved to SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA and my daughters want to come down and stay with me and visit mom duruing vacations.
Right now is the other way, how can I make this change so they can stay with me , my wife" my daughter's step mom, but they call her mom" and my two boys.
They do better in school and overall better with us.
Their mom is always changing schools evry year and their grandma is the one who actualy take's care of them and not the mom iher self.
California seems like they go toward the mom's side all the time. I had social services involved cause her husband use to hit my daughters and they didn't do anything just a warnig. mom got caught lying in court and making my girls make up stories and still she always get's wat she want's.
So I'm getting desperate at thi point.

A close family member and I fell out some time ago after continually saying I was taking advantage of another family member. They have no evidence and noone believes him but it is driving me crazy and undermining my standing within our family. They are continuing to make allegations even though they have no evidence. It is impossible to prove this as they are saying it and not writing it.

Has anyone else ever been in this situation? How did you cope?

I have, or had rather a friend who did nothing but use my husband and I. We would come home from 12+ hour work days and she would be calling us to take her out. (She would always "forget" her money so we would have to pay. Yes, we have told her that we are not taking her any where unless she is prepared to pay and sometimes provide gas money. She never has given us gas money)

When the dr. told me to stay in bed (dealing with some pregnancy issues) this friend was told about the situation. She still called me and wanted me to come help her mow the lawn. Then she wanted me to take her out for lunch. She pulled this crap three days out of one week. I told her that I needed to rest and don't have the energy to even leave my house. She still didn't get it.

When I had my surgery to remove a growth, (in my side) I was on bedrest. She called me many times wanting to DO things for her and got angry when I kept telling her I had to stay in bed.

Plus many other things.

I'm 40 and divorced for a year so new again to dating. I've become sexually involved with a man (also 40) I've been dating and crazy about. He's wonderful but not very open with his feelings. I think he was hurt very bad by his ex-wife (many years ago). Well I've only learned that he wants to take things VERY slow relationship wise (i.e. he doesn't want to be in a "committed" relationship yet). I can understand that but he always wants to have sex (and I always enjoy it) but my emotions are growing and growing for him (especially when we have sex which is a Very intimate act for me) but he has his emotions on lock down. I enjoy his company (and the sex) but I don't want to continue to have sex if he's not making any moves towards commitment.
How do I stop having sex with him while continuing to build a relationship without seeming like I'm now withholding sex until I get a commitment and without losing him.>

last night a male friend im close to told me he had been raped a couple of times when he was young. My friend Darian asked me to ask out this guy that i knew for her because she was too shy. so i did and he said no. when i walked away my friend Jessica asked him if i asked him out would he go out with me and he said probabbly. When i got into 6th period i told her and she started pouting. verry imature, makeing him feel bad. he kept looking @ me and made me feel bad 4 him , and i really like him. i gave him a hug later after class. that is how things went. now my ? is should i ask him out? or what shopuld i do about him @ this point.
