Its not a very nice number when its 80.

It depends on the maturity of the two people involved. The older one may be an "adult child" and the younger partner may be the more mature. So, basically I would agree.

age is a way of defining a person*s physical being on this earth up till about the age of 19, when the mental maturity catches up to the physical. I*ve heard it told all my life that females mature faster than males....could that be the reason Up until I reached my 40*s that I was always more interested in dating guys 5-10years older than myself? I learned a lesson the hard way....my mother had been divorced for approx. 20 years, dated periodically, but when her youngest reached 18, she started dating in earnest. We saw her going thru all the motions week after week, but noone held her attention for any length of time until.......she met and begain dating a much younger man. After about a year she announced that she was going to marry this man, and all kinds of havoc within the family arose.
(he was the same age as her middle child, she had 2 children older than him). The younger 2 boys wouldn*t speak to her or have anything to do with her for awhile after they married. Over time, we saw that he treated her like a queen, something that she deserved, and cared so much for her till he won all of us over. Although he is younger than I, and I can never call him *DAD*, he has been more of a father to me than my biologically father ever was. They have been married now going on 17 years, and I have never seen or known my mom to be so happy...she*s 65 this yr. he*s 41

You are right age is nothing but a number, but it has it's limits. For example, no one should be dating someone who is18 yr old or younger to someone who is over 18 yrs old. But it is okay for someone to date about at least 10 yrs apart but it shouldn't be more than that like a 40yr old to a 20 yr old cause that's like eww.

but i think thats only when you get old enough to date for real- becuased dating at my age is just stupid, really- and i dated this guy that was four years older than me---

I agree, unless it's when you're under aged and with someone who isn't. That's a crime. If it's not like that, I totally agree. If you really love someone, then go for it! You can't fight true love.
