I have, or had rather a friend who did nothing but use my husband and I. We would come home from 12+ hour work days and she would be calling us to take her out. (She would always "forget" her money so we would have to pay. Yes, we have told her that we are not taking her any where unless she is prepared to pay and sometimes provide gas money. She never has given us gas money)
When the dr. told me to stay in bed (dealing with some pregnancy issues) this friend was told about the situation. She still called me and wanted me to come help her mow the lawn. Then she wanted me to take her out for lunch. She pulled this crap three days out of one week. I told her that I needed to rest and don't have the energy to even leave my house. She still didn't get it.
When I had my surgery to remove a growth, (in my side) I was on bedrest. She called me many times wanting to DO things for her and got angry when I kept telling her I had to stay in bed.
Plus many other things.

Am I wrong to be glad we are "rid" of her? Or should I call to make sure all is ok?

Get rid of her and be glad she is gone! She sounds like she used you guys. When you needed help, instead of her helping you, she wanted you guys to do for her still. Be glad she is gone, don't call her , it would just get her calling on you guys to give her more and do more for her. You now have a baby on the way, worry about your family. with friends like that you don't need enemies.

This is one of those situations that would definitely be best left alone. You dont need to reopen the can of worms as you know exactly what will happen if you call. You two helped her out once without ever being repaid and since she doent seem to cre about you, it seems she used you both to the max. You dont need her. Your concern is admirable but not worth restarting the aggrevation unless you miss it. She will eventually run out of friends she can "use" and will end up alone (her choice) and will probably oneday be back in touch. Dont call her, let her make the first move and apologize to you for her actions. Good luck

She's probably found someone else to hang on too. I know it's sad and you want to help, but you can't be nice to some people because they take advantage and they don't have a clue about your situation.

No don't call her! If you haven't heard from her then realize that she has finally found some other schmucks to cart her around and pay her way. You are well rid of that parasite!

The woman was obviously a user so why would you want to get hold of her? She may have found someone else to use. Let sleeping dogs lie if you know what I mean.

be glad to get rid of her. she was using you and i dont think that was fair considering your health. if she was a true friend, she would understand that you needed bed rest

Be glad to be rid of her, it's like getting rid of a parasite, you don't want that back.
