I have been battling with being the Nice Guy for so long. Been married for 5 years with two kids. I try to keep up appearances by denying that I am a bit of an Egotist. If a girl smiles at me, it makes me feel good, but I think that is the wrong reaction. I want to keep my Ego, even though it is not what I feel like I should be doing. I lie about dumb crap to keep up this visaed of being the Nice Guy, but my Ego is not a Nice Guy thing. The Ego is more of an average self-centered guy. How come I am fighting back the Ego, yet I am still "friends" with it? It is ruining my marriage, and I have been outright lying about how I feel. I want to be this Nice Guy, yet I let me Ego get away with stuff that is not appropriate. Why am I having to even fight with this Ego?! Why can't I seem to override it? Is it because I am not open and honest? Or is it just that much of me that I can't control it? Do other guys try to ignore this, or do they just give up, embrace it, and become the stereotype?

I'm graduating next month and look where i am! i'm home because of my boyfriend! i didn't go to school and i hate not going to school but when my boyfriend puts me down i cant do anything! he has such an advantage of me and all i want to do is love him. he is not working with me and i just feel like sitting him down but every time we do that it works for a lil while then back to normal and it's not my fault!! i should be in school but i want everything to go good between me and him first! i wont let him go! because i know we are meant for each other..i'm trying to get in contact with me but he's not picking up! i feel like hurting myself!! i need his love now. and it's getting smaller and smaller every time we argue but it's his fault!!! i might not even go to school tomorrow =( . he is out right now but i don't know where, my head is spinning and i am emotionally drained right now. i need a really helpful friend right now. i need to smile and laugh. when im home im just stuck!

My sister is getting married next month and she decided that she was going to have a destination wedding. It is for 5 days and cost over $2,000 a couple. None of our family, including our parents, have the money to go on such a trip. Her fiances family does though. She said her reasoning for having this type of wedding is because they couldnt afford a wedding here, so they chose this because they will get to have a honeymoon instead of a small wedding here. The problem is that she's hurt that neither of her sisters or her parents can be there. Do you think she has the right to be? She chose to do this knowing that none of us have money. We hardly get our bills paid yet we should be able to take 5 unpaid days off of work, spend $2,000 plus money for a gift and find sitters for our children for a week or bring our babies out of the country. It just doesnt make sense. I just say that noone has a right to be mad on any side, it is what it is. What do you think? Thanks in advance

Basically me and my ex have been broken up for7 months.. I still really love him he is the only one that I have ever loved.. He still lokks at me like he does love me still but he has a girl friend. My brother is 19 and was arrested yesterday and is in jail becuase my paents won't pay bond to get him released. It's not that much - $600 - but they say they are trying to teach him a lesson but this is his first time in trouble.

I'm 21 and been there twice - once for 30 days and once for 6 months - and know what it's like and I don't think it's right that they want to leave him there. I'm trying to get the cash together for him.

I have been spending time with a really nice guy. We have a lot in common and have a really good time doing nothing. We haven't talked about being boyfriend and girlfriend, because we are both coming out of long relationships and we trying to move slow. Am currently seeing this girl online...we chat very often.
We both like each other.
She asked me one day,if i ever got cheated on?
I told her i've been cheated on, from my previous girlfriend due to not having sex with her.
And i was made fun of and we ended up in a argument.
I asked her many times, why she was laughing??....
never recieved a proper response, just pretty much bullshit answer!!!
Is she laughing at me cause, my ex left me for that particular reason or cause she thinks im a virgin??
Or can it be something else??
If she's thinking im a virgin, will she think less of me??

My oldest brother is married to a real temperamental woman. I have no personal problem with her but at the same time I realize she has some serious personality issues. She is also on antidepressants for her depression and anger. He won't buck her when she is being mean; only walks away and goes into his own little world to ignore the problem. Well, now she has asked for a divorce. He says its comfortable and he doesn't want to go through a divorce. It's as if he has forgotten what it feels like to be happy. And he is such a wonderful, funny, optimistic person... but not anymore. It's his cross to bear he says. I can't stand seeing him so miserable. Any words of wisdom I could give him?

I have been married for two years. He has two children from a previous marriage. I love his children, but because of the evil things his ex says to them about me, they resent me and treat me like crap. They have even said they wished I would die and that they hate me. Is this typical? What should I do? I need help since I feel lost. Being a step mom is very hard it would be nice to hear how to deal with such a bad situation.

A little back round first though. About 2 months ago my husband told me a girl at work asked him out, he told her he was married. I found a note in his car from this girl telling him he should go out on Saturday. My husband said he was going to through away the note, and just forgot. He just got it the morning I found it. (it had a date on it) He said he didn't even think to tell me because he didn't even think of going, and he told this girl that. (we don't go out much)

I dont wanna be one of those women who miss the signs that her husbands cheating, and I honestly dont think he ever would, but ..... its not like a cheater would just come right out and say "hey im a cheater"

my parents hate my boyfriend. the only thing my mom has gotten to know about my boyfriend is things from his myspace. she doesnt like the fact that im white and he's black. my mother has always had slightly racist qualities, but i didnt realize that it went this deep. she constantly tells me that she doesnt trust me, and that she wont condone us dating. she even said that i couldnt go on a trip with our church this summer because he was going. she's being really controlling, and never lets me see him. she's rude to him, and it hurts both of us. i really care about him, and dont like her being this way towards him. my father hasnt even met him and already doesnt like him because of my mom. he has formed his opinions of justin completely on what my mom says. what should i do and what do you all think ?

my husband said so many hurtful things over the years, mostly silly in a sarcastically jokingly way but the one that hurt the most was when the other day he said that:
"...YOUR POETRY IS NOT WORKING FOR YOU"

p.s. the sad part is if I remind him he will not even remember he said it :(
