This is my first computer build all by myself so pls excuse the ignorance. But the mobo (asrock) manual says I HAVE to put the RAID drivers on a floppy in order to install them during windows installation. Is there another way to do this or do i really have to buy and install an internal floppy drive and then take it out again when I'm done (as i need the bay for media card reader)?

Also, Asrock say that the XP drivers "should" work with vista..should I be confident in this or am a setting myself up for a disaster? (and it is too late to say don't use vista as I really need to get this done today). Thanks!

Millions of people work everyday on computers and use a phone right next to them. Why did Computer manufacturers decide to invert the numerical order between them?

I beleive this was an unforseen development and bad test marketing on the part of computer makers.

Hi.
I believe that my USB ports may not be working. I can no longer get my printer to work (altho I have tested it, it still works but I can't get my computer to recongnize that the printer is plugged in), also my computer doesn't seem to recongnize that I have plugged in my digital camera.
Is this normal for USB ports to wear out? Could it be a software prob? Any suggestions or testing I can run myself?
I am still running Windows 98.
I thank everyone who answers in advance. Thanks!

Ok so I gotta do some team work over the net for uni. I get a cheap litle $14 microphone, load up sound recorder or audacity and can't get the damn thing to record. the package came with no instructions since you should just plug it in.

I've checked the sound volumes and everything is up what else could it be? or did I just get stuck with a broken mic

my scanner has been acting kinda funny in the last few weeks, until bam, the original adaptor burned. i checked to see if it was my scanner alone that was broken too, but i tried it with my friend's scanner adaptor (she had the same identical one) and it worked perfectly fine. so i ordered a new one of the correct model and such.

i just tried and boom it did something funny, so anyways, it worked for a couple of min. then i turned it off when i came back to use to it again it didnt make any noise as how the old one did, it simply did not work anymore. but i noticed that aroudn the edges of it it was getting all liquidy. yellowish liquidy....what is that?????

do adaptors carry some type of liquid inside of each one?? does that mean that its burnt AGAIN??? what is this liquid???

I've read that you should turn off your computer (during the day, when at work), then I've read that you can keep it on. That the energy usage is small. I used to turn mine off everyday, now I turn it off every couple of days. What's the best way to maintain...whatever, where your computer is concerned.
