Why are Keyboard # pads in a different numerical order than Telephone # pads?

Millions of people work everyday on computers and use a phone right next to them. Why did Computer manufacturers decide to invert the numerical order between them?

I beleive this was an unforseen development and bad test marketing on the part of computer makers.

they are based on the layout of calculator and a pc is nothing to do with a phone.

If you look at most internet keyboards, you would know this answer. The shortcut key for the calculator is right by the number pad.

Number pads are designed as per calculators....
