My system crashed, received warranty mother board and CPU, but the new (refurbished?) CPU already died in less then 1 hour? The guys fixing my computer says Dell uses poor quality parts? Anybody else have this problem. "Dude, I'm NOT glad I got Dell"!

I presently have a poor video card - VIA/S3G Unichrome Pro IGP 16Mb Vram but i have AGP and Direct 3D, Direct Draw acceleration. I want a video card for 3d games like GTA and Total Overdose. It should improve performance but the cost should be less than 100$. (64mb vram card)

I keep getting a message popping up saying :-

One of the USB devices attached to the computer has malfunctioned and windows does not recognise it. My printer won't work and my daughters ipod and web cam won't work. I'm running XP. Any help would be much appreciated

i have bought intel DG965WH board. there are 4 memory slots. but two has different colour and rest two has different color. does anyone tell why they have color difference, any special use of them. i am buying 2 GB ram.
is there any difference between single sided chip ram and double sided chip ram ?

Okay, my laptop fried. Sad, I know, anyways i bought a IDE 2.5 HD External case thing. To recover all the info that was on it. I connected it to my desktop. All is fine, i'm able to view everything on the HD, until i go into Documents and Settings/my user acc. It tells me that " F:\Documents and Settings\Me is not accessible. Access is denied." Why is this happening? Is there a way to fix the disk? Is there another place that the contents could be found? Plz help URGENT! :)

my fiance can drive for an hour in the morning or we can hash this out tonite on my win XP - surely there must be a way! Sony could not hve been this shortsighted only a few short years ago could they?!?!?! i want to buy a new case but keep my old hardware in my old computer because the motherboard is fine and everything else as well
if i took everything out of my old computer and put it in a new case would it be safe and is it possible
because i dont want to take any risks of damaging any equipment what so ever

i just got a used dvd rom from a friend and i fixed in my pc. I put a dvd in and first it picks up the dvd then it just stops. When i click the dvd rom it says put dvd in.
Its 5 year old computer
The dvd rom did not come with a intallment cd
do i need the cd?

Ok first of all, If i have a usb wifi drive, do i still, need an internet card (the chip connected to the mother board)?
Second, is there software, that will automaticly swich the wifi to the best connection, without Typing in passwords? ex: say i was using a laptop in a moving car.

I've read the posts on what to do when the NTLDR message comes up but here's a twist: I'm trying to help a friend with his computer and the message that keeps coming up is "NTLDR is missing, press ctrl + alt + del to restart" and the problem is he lost his recovery disk. This is a Compaq computer and I can get into the "recovery mode" by pressing F10 but even doing that it keeps saying that every file is not recoverable when trying to "restore" Windows. I can't seem to find anything physically wrong when I open up the computer (everything seems to be connected) and I changed the boot sequence in the BIOS settings but that didn't work and now I'm running out of ideas on what to try. Does anyone else have any suggestions?

I have a pc with 128mb ram, iwant to try ubuntu in it.But i read that ubuntu needs atleast of 512MB. So what could i do?.In my pc windowsxp and windows 2000 pro are installed.If it is possible , tell me how to format both the operating system and install only ubuntu in it.The other problem is, now i am using only xp sp1, but some web pages wont show correctly.and when I open the windows 2000 it tries to shut down.could u tell me how to format both windows xp and 2000 and install only linux software in it?

Ok this is what its telling me when i try to get my webcam to work. Its telling me it can find a webcam. Does it have anything to do with installing software on my computer for my digital camera? I dont have any software for my webcam.

One of my friends bought a computer and when hi first started it there was a software wich asked him to insert a blank dvd into the drive, once hi did it, that software created a bootable recovery disk for all the configuration of the Windows XP including Ms Office and thirdy part softwares. I would like to do it too on my computer but i don't have the software to do it and his computer don't have this software to create the disk again otherwise i could just copy it.

I have an eMachines T2685 Desktop Computer, I have bought 1GB of RAM for it, (2 sticks of 512) and when I put it in, it will boot up just fine, but will only display that I have 512 of RAM in there. I took out the old stick and put in the new stick, and it said that it was there. I put them both back in, and it only showed 512 again! Please help
