Can anyone tell me the bennifits of an 8Pin CPU power supply cable vs a 4 Pin connector?

Hi. The 4 pin has 12V,G,G,5V. It will only fit in a 4 pin slot. Usually an 8 pin is a DIN connector. But may also be PCIx.
