i have a decent graphics card and powerful PC.it just says that i need to adjust the resolution and colour quality in display , which i did but i still had no luck?

My Computer Specs:
2.4GHz
512MB RAM
80GB HDD

My windows doesnt boot up. When I start my computer, it goes to some MSDOS page which says press F2 to run setup and press F11 for Boot Menu. If i select F2, I reach the BIOS utility setup page. If I press F11, I can only select my floppy and my cd drive, not my harddisk. I thought maybe windows had a problem so I tried to repair using the windows cd, but when I press for repairing, it says that the HardDisk is not detected. Is there any way to fix this? I opened the computer to check the connection and it was all fine. Does this mean that my harddisk is damaged? If yes, is there any way to recover the data?

The brand of my HD is Hitachi, if it helps.

Ok...got past that part and finally got it out. Now when I load up everthing it is fine, jiust when I hit continuie it will go to a screen that says and it is all black,

I used to copy music to my PC while with the option of right protection and since I formated my pc I can only play Mp3 and not other formats.

When I play them it automatically open the internet.

Is impossible to recover my music... I mean crack the "right protection" policy?

Hello, I just finished my computer today and got it all running etc. When I booted it up for the first time with my monitor the BIOS came up. I plugged a keyboard in it says,

"The graphics card detected in PCIE X16_2 or 3 SLI slot
Please move to PCIE X16_1 slot for non-SLI operation.40Ghz"

Press DEL to enter setup etc.

Nothing on the keyboard works, I try all the keys only control/alt/delete works. It reconizes my 2 gigs and processor, so that is good.

Any suggestions?

I tried moving the video card but it is like....stuck..it is so stupidly massive it is hard to get out. I tried quite hard and did not want to any harder in case I either 1. Farted or 2. Broke it.

I'll explain. An older system that had Xp Pro. But while trying to re-install, I'm having a problem. The first cold boot, system config test, NTSF partitioning, list of files and copy files runs flawlessly. The system shutsdown and is supposed to warm boot and start setting up the OS. Instead, it re-boots to the beginning..." Boot from Atapi Cd Rom ..Press any key...etc. If this will help..It's a VIA motherboard VT series with all "on board." I'm using an 800 mb eb pentiun III processor and CD Rom and Hard Disk only. No Floppy. I have received no errors for Cyclic redundency...etc Any ideas

first intel core 2 duo 1.8 E 6300 with intel DG865WH board.
second AMD dual core 3800+ with ASUS M2N4 board.
which should i buy for maximum performance on hardcore gaming.

I'm completely new to macs. I have a 450 mhz G4 mac that that has about 140 gigs of hard drive space and a gig of ram. Is it possible to buy a faster G4 chip? If so, how fast can I go? What do i need to know before doing so? how much would it cost?

I have just recently bought a an ATI RADEON X650 PRO and it includes a CATALYST software. When I try to install this software it tells me to instal a BASIC VGA DRIVER first. Does anyone know where I can get this driver or which site I can download it from free of charge. If I dont need a driver what should I Do? Thanks

I saw, or heard, somewhere that there's a PCI card that lets you have more than the regular up to four physical drives.

What do you call that?
Where would the IDE Cables go? (I guess to the card)
Where would you connect the power supply? (since I counted in mine, you only get four for the drives)

would this be more efficient than having one massive hard drive? I'm thinking maybe since one time my salve hard drive died and now all those pictures and stuff I downloaded are gone forever...

A friend of mine gave me his OCZ Mini-kart 1gb memory stick after it corrupted itself. It says in My Computer that is's 0 bytes in size and wants me to format it when I try and explore it. When I try and format it (both FAT and FAT32) it just says 'The disk is write-protected'.

The drive has no write protection on it, he did not put it on there and there is no physical switch as some models have. It's corrupted itself and thinks its now write protected.

Any ideas on how to get it working again before I phone the suppliers tomorrow?
