I'll explain. An older system that had Xp Pro. But while trying to re-install, I'm having a problem. The first cold boot, system config test, NTSF partitioning, list of files and copy files runs flawlessly. The system shutsdown and is supposed to warm boot and start setting up the OS. Instead, it re-boots to the beginning..." Boot from Atapi Cd Rom ..Press any key...etc. If this will help..It's a VIA motherboard VT series with all "on board." I'm using an 800 mb eb pentiun III processor and CD Rom and Hard Disk only. No Floppy. I have received no errors for Cyclic redundency...etc Any ideas

No keys are being touched. In fact, this is a secondary computer and therefore the keyboard,tower,monitor...etc aren't within my immediate reach. I double checked to make certain there weren't any keys stuck. Also, advice taken and reconfigured boot sequence. New settings(1) HDD-0 (2) CD ROM (3) LS ZIP with similar results with these exceptions : PXE_E61 Media Test Failure [ am unfamiliar }
PXE_MOF Exiting PXE ROM
DISK BOOT FAILURE...ETC

In the eyes of this reported...he should have his cable select setting checked. Sorry guys, I was killing a few minutes to see if there were any problems and right now, I am at 14 minutes til completion. Sorry for the trouble but Thanks.

you need to go into BIOS and change your boot order to HDD instead of ATAPI or CDROM (press F1 or F2 or Del at startup for bios) or watch for mssg somewhere during POST

after cd setup installs and warmboots just dont press any key and it will skip past the cdrom boot and the hdd will take over with the setup.

It is either you are touching a key when the computer says "press any key to boot from CD" or the hard drive is not loading the setup files, and they are being stored in the RAM which erases on a restart.

After the first restart DO NOT HIT ANY KEY, just let the computer go through it's setup and load files.
