You might have a virus on your computer. Make sure everything is plugged in properly, including the power cables, and that the wall outlet is functioning properly. If the problem continues, contact your computer company. They should be able to solve the problem.

I also encountered a similar problem to the situation you described, but in my case, it was the power supply. I'd boot up, then the system would start and fail. I also heard noise for a while. So if you had similar problems and if this situation gradually came on, check your power supply. It's a very easy item to replace and is pretty inexpensive too.
The other answers, regarding a virus, etc., are also possibilities.

It could be your motherboard a memory problem or the power supply needs to be replaced. My computer did the same thing and I had to put new memory cards in. The other two things I have listed have happened to my older computers.
P.S. If it's the motherboard. Most the time it's cheaper to get a new computer instead of a new motherboard.

You could very well have a cooling problem. I've fixed computers with problems like this before when they've had a fan or heatsink out.

A little more info please!
Does it POST, do you get any 'BIOS beeps'?
If it's not even reaching POST, it may be a PSU problem or BIOS corruption. PSU's are not user servicable, do you have another you can try?
