The two different colors denotes which slots need to be matched in order for the memory to run in "dual channel" mode. If you have2 x 512 sticks, to run in dual channel you need to put them both in the same color slot. Some boards are picky as to which pair of slots you have to use if you only have 2 sticks.
Dual channel mode is basically a way to double the data transfer rate of the memory installed, though it does not increase the performance as much as you would think. It is still a noticeable boost.
The only difference between single-sided ram and double-sided ram is the density of the actual memory chips. Double sided sticks usually had more low density chips on it, whereas single-sided sticks have fewer high density chips on it.
Some older motherboards had issues with using high-density memory modules. n order to remedy this, you would buy a stick with more memory chips on it. Obviously, a double sided chip will be able to have more chips on it.

A motherboard is a significant board which holds many different factors jointly and helps to connect and handle them to variety an entire gadget. Motherboard is a prevalent term so there are a number of categories. working example, an Intel motherboard, isn't like an AMD motherboard. they are the two motherboards, yet they help distinctive architectures, they handle and take distinctive factors besides as some comparable factors. Motherboards would have distinctive variety factors to in high-quality condition particular needs. some motherboards are appropriate for smaller footprints to shelter area, many times on the fee of potential and functionality.

Here is the specs.
Four 240-pin DDR2 SDRAM Dual Inline Memory Module (DIMM) sockets
Support for DDR2 800, DDR2 667, or DDR2 533 MHz DIMMs
Support for up to 8 GB of system memory
8GB support at DDR2 533/667MHz only.
Here are your answers. instructions on your card, explaining everything. When you get on the site, click PRODUCTION SPECIFICATION and that will lead to PDF on instructions for board AND how to place memory in what slots.

Go to crucial.com and just press a module then go to the FAQs to answer questions.

Your board is good. It is upgradeable to core 2 duo, has a PCI-E slot and minimum capacity of 4 Gb of RAM.
I read also , that your board should have instructions on how to put in the RAM, and in what order. I could not find anything specific.
You would get the 8 GB cuz for 64 bit. 4 Gb is 32 bit capacity.
No way you want 32 byte capacity now But get the 667 MHz module though..
The DG965WHMKR provides 4 DIMM sockets using Dual Channel 240-pin DDR2 with a total capacity of up to 4GB-32bit (8GB-64bit). You can install DDR2 533/667/800MHz Memory. (8GB memory support at DDR2 667/533MHz only)
Here is a good site to read about RAM
http://www.computermemoryupgrade.net/index.html
So call crucial.com and they can answer your questions. Also read their FAQ. Remember when you buy RAM look at the return policy. Also, Crucial sells brand name stuff not rejects. You will find that companies sell modules that do not meet their standards to other companies. These companies then put their own label on it. Of course, some will not refund the money back only exchange for a defective module. And maybe someone can tell you about putting in the RAM. I am still looking. hahaha
I just noticed. For a core 2 duo is supported by 800 MHz which is the requirement on your board for 4 Gb at 32 byte. But I know you would want 32 byte. You might check on this first before buying any RAM now. So if you plan to upgrade later to a core 2 duo you would drop down to 32 byte. But the board is not that much anyway. But check on this if you need to.

no difference between single and double sided. the engineering is all the same for that board. colors may differ due to ram banks 1 & 2.
good luck!

There are differences, sdram or dram and single sided and 168 pin or others. the different colors gives you the type of memory you can use in each slot. be careful you use the wrong type kis the motherboard goodbye.

this could be also because this motherboard supports dual channel memory.
Check this link on pages 16 to 22.

The two clors represent the standard memory slot and the dual channel slots(mine are blue for dual, and black for standard). Ck your manual that came with the board...cause if you install wrong, the computer won't work.

i think one is ddram and one is sdram... try to see the shape of the memory slot with your memory card. .. it would fit in the right place. but ask some experts about it before buying PC parts ok or before putting it in place..just to be sure for some compatibility and quality
follow this link...for some info...
