my windows cant boot up, i have tried to repair it using fixboot command then chkdsk /p in the recovery console but still. it doesnt work...

I took the modem out now it won't post and the alarm beeps 3 times, stops then continuous beeping.

I have a faulty motherboard which doesnt allow me to attach any IDE connections, I got windows vista and i want to do a fresh insatll, Will my external dvd drive work on a clean install if the drivers aren't on the pc. Cheers for any info

I have a Dell Dimension 3000 PC. I've installed a Pioneer DVD writer, which burns CD's just fine, but has problems with burning on a blank DVD. Does anyone have any suggestions? I've tried using Memorex DVD-R, & Staples DVD+R- Both seem to be problematic!Help!

I want to use latex gloves while taking the PSU out of my Dimension 4600 and I have the instructions from the Dell site how to. But I am wondering should I go buy a anti-static wrist strap or should I use my wooden floor or case to ground myself or should I use gloves?

Ive recently bought a new motherboard, Biostar Tforce 550 and a Cooler Master cavalier 3 atx case, the problem I'm having, is I cant understand how to connect the front panel power button, and the power_led. The motherboard is a 3 pin connector + + -, but it has only 2 wires coming from the power led, a green one and a white one. I dont want to try and connect them just in case I break something, also which wire is positive and which one is negative, because there not labled... It would be very much appreciated for any help. thankyou

would adding a decicated video card to my computer increase the framerate. my computer (circa 2002) has a intel 82810 intergrated video chipset, a 1200mhz celeron processor and 512mb ram the video is good as far as the resolution and number of colors.but my computer doesnt get a very good frame rate i have to use low resolution to get some things to work, and it also lags while scrolling down web pages that are graphicly intense. it isnt terrible slow otherwise.is framerate more dependent on the video card or the speed of ur processor.?? my processor isnt upgradeble so i am hopeing that a new video card will help. would it be possible to double my framerate by installing a new video card.? also how do i tell if my computer has a slot avaible for a video card and what type of slot it is without opening the computer case.?

I just got a new PC with Intel P4 Duo and Intel LG 775 Board. I got a nVidia 7600GT card with dual monitor DVI outs. Got I GB Ram and 2 200GB hard drives. The computer is great but when I unplugged it from my 17" monitor and plugged it to my 32" protron LCD, it takes 5 minutes for the windows to boot up to desktop. It starts and then shows the welcome screen, after that it will go to the desktop forest picture and nothing shows, but after 5 minutes it all shows up.

Why so long of a time? Can someone tell me why? Please help and thanks in advance.

I have the cd drive that my pc came with and one day it wouldnt read it is not dead it still opens and closes but i put in a disk and it wont read i even click on my computer and it says there no disk drive so does any 1 know how to get this to work or know of a file that will get my computer to re recognize that cd drives exist like a main boot up or something that will install files to add a cd drive or something?

This is my CPU speed 950mhz celeron 2

I have a 80mm fan on it.I haven't raised the V-core.It is stable but is that too much?

When I put in a cd the listen to the music on my cdrom. I get an erroe say there is no cdrom on this computer. and also my registry files are conrrupt is there any body that can me with this issue.
