My friend is buying a new flash drive, and is asking me this question. I'm a computer nerd but can't give an everyday answer.

It is a 1 GB flash drive.

How many documents on average?
How many pictures on average?
How many songs on average?

Our second computer is a Compaq that's about five years old now, it has it's original Pentium four, 1.50 ghz processor. Is it a good idea to replace it with a new processor, or should I just leave it alone as long as it's working?

Do processors become slower with age?

I know there are adapters to put a laptop cd drive in a desktop, but what about the other way around? Is there an adapter that will let me hook a desktop Cd player to a laptop? Basically, I need to install windows on my laptop which has allready been formatted and has no OS., and my cd drive is not working for some reason. Unless there is another way I can do it, like can I boot from a USB drive?

This is a review from www.newegg.com.

Cons: Windows XP won't recognize the full drive until SP1 and SP2 are installed. Not WD's fault but I freaked out initially when a new XP installation only saw 137 of 250G

Other Thoughts: Allowed XP Pro to install the 137G partition only and then after SP2 was downloaded (Windows Update) I partioned the remaining 100 + gigs to D drive).

What does it mean to partition, and how do you partition something to a disc drive? I know, d doesn't stand for disc, but aren't all disc drives d:/? Thanks.

When I turn my computer on it makes a short boot up noise then doesn't do anything else. On the monitor it says "no input signal". I've checked out the monitor and it is fine. What do ya'll think might be wrong? Thanks for the help!

Ok, so my friend built me a computer, which I am using now. I know nothing about computers. Is this considered a "Good" computer, or obsolete? Here are the specifications I know...

Processor: Intel Pentium D Dual Core processor 3.4 Ghz (6.8Ghz total)
RAM: 2 gig dual channel
Hard Drive: 250 gig
Operating System: Windows XP Professional
Video Card: ATI Radeon X1600Pro 512 MB PCI-E
Umm... it also has a DVD RW in it, and I have cable internet

Also, is this computer any good for games? Thanks.

I just re-installed windows on my computer and for some reason it kept the files from the previous install, but I can't access them. So in short I have a 80 GB hard drive with only 40 GB of usable space. I know jack about computers, so I don't know what I can delete and what I need to save to keep windows(and my computer) running smoothly. Is there a program I can download(for free please) or what are the files(or folders) I need to save if I need to manually delete all the files?

2. can i still use the crossfire function if i am using 2 video cards from different company? for example, i have a Connect3D radeon X1950 and a HIS Radeon X1950 crossfire edition. will both card still work together properly?

3. can i use a single crossfire edition card as a normal display card? or it can only be used when the user is trying to get crossfire?

I have read most of the answers listed but my problem is that both my master and slave show up in the Bios but not in my computer. The master shows up but not the slave. The slave operating system was damaged and will not boot as a master. Operating system is windows 98. I have a new computer now with XP but I still have my old 98 computer and am using it to try to salvage the files off the damaged hard-drive. All the jumpers are set and the slave is in the center connector and the master in the first. Any help will definitely be appreciated. I am sure, at least most likely, that the boot sector is damaged on the slave drive.
