When I turn my computer on it makes a short boot up noise then doesn't do anything else. On the monitor it says "no input signal". I've checked out the monitor and it is fine. What do ya'll think might be wrong? Thanks for the help!

It could be a number of things, but it is probably a hardware issue somewhere.

Your graphics card has gone, or memory, or cpu or motherboard.

The best thing would be to take it to a computer store and get them to have a look at it for you.

It sounds to me like there is no connection between the plug on your modem, and the other end that does into your screen. A lot of flast monitors, like my 19" Gateway color monitor, occasionally might umplug, especially on the back side of the monitor. Check also to see is thare has been any hardware changes in drivers for your monitor. But, then, it seems as if you hasve a video connection to start but then it goes away. I really think it's a plug, or a driver problem. Sometimes after certain updates, the computer might notify you that there's a hardware problem. The best place to start isw making sure all your chords or cables are not worn, and that they ARE all connected.
(I keep reading bout people talking about video cards, audio cards, sound cards, cell phone cards. I never had a comoputer with asny of these, or at least, I don't play around with installing or removing stuff inside my tower modem for my pc. If you buy a half way descent quality computer, you don't have all these add-on stuff. The only thing I add on might be aq printer, a cell phone, rear or surround sound speaker connections, or a digital camera or an analog microphone. None of these thing require monkeying around (sorry primates) (toying?A better word?), with inside componants. Good luck.) Last, beware that much advice on these answers is a lot of people acting like the "know it all" about computers. Believe me, if you gotta start messing with sound cards, video cards, or even things on cell phone, then you either bought a piece of junk, or you've probably been better off getting advice from somewhere else than this forum.

It's just the monitor saying it doesn't have a signal from the pc.

It senses there is power at the pc, but not getting a video signal.

Could be the hard drive, motherboard, power supply, memory, a boot virus, all sorts of things. Time for the geek squad.

Is the noise a series of beeps? Here are some beep codes that may help.

Video card is probably dead.

Or your motherboard is fried.
