I cannot find any information on the temperature rating for my Seagate drives. Here are the model numbers:
ST320082 2AS - 200GB SATA
ST380013 AS - 80GB SATA

I would like a link to the technical specifications of those drives.

I am currently using 760mb of RAM and have a ATI Radeon 9250 PCI card(2.8Ghz Celeron). I do not have a AGP or PCI-E slot. Will boosting my computer to the maximum 2GB of RAM make the stutter on my new games stop(Need For Speed Carbon has stutter problem while being passed and while making fast turns or corners.).

I'm running XP Pro on a Pentium III at 664 MHZ with 128 MB RAM with high speed Internet (Cable). The machine works fine but the web pages seem awful slow... several second delays for a page to load. Is this a result of all the firewall/virusscan/security etc. and Windows updates? Or is this machine so old that I can't expect better performance and I have to just buy a new machine? Some other factor (s)?
Your thoughts are appreciated.

Thanks

With the size of memory chips reaching 8GB each shouldnt the OS be run on these chips? It sounds like it would be a lot faster and you wouldnt have to worry about drive crashing.

I'm wondering if I should leave my computer (and monitor) always ON, even when I am not using it for several hours, or if it is better for the hardware to be switched OFF between uses. What are the pros and cons here?

When new, it used to burn dvd's in about 15 min.
now it takes 5 hours.
why does it take so long?
what's slowing the burner down?
the burner is not very old. less than one year.

i use dvd shrink to compress the dvd and dvd decrypter to burn it.

I have a HP Pavilion a250n that came with 2- 256MB running at 333MHz. There are a total of 4 slots in 2 pair, currently with 1- 256MB in each pair. I would like to upgrade my memory, but am unsure of my options. Do I have to intstall memory chips in pairs? Can I add just 1- 512? Can I add 1-1024? Can I mix and match 256 and 512 or do all chips have to be the same. Can I mix and match manufacturers, or do they all have to be the same?

Hi,

I am not sure what they are called? (storage servers, hdd servers, etc? Please correct me if I am wrong)

What I am trying to do is purchase (where?) a cheap pc tower like case that is designed to *only* hold hard drives (HDDs). It would seem logical (and easier) to just put all my hard drives into a single tower and then connect that to a computer. Is this even possible? What type of cables or connectors would I need? Where might I begin to look?

Should current computer model laptops be powered on 24/7 -- assuming you have screensavers, stand-by settings, etc. Is it good to leave your computer on 24/7. A few years ago I was told it is not good to turn off your computer because powering it on-off is bad for power supply or motherboard, or some device within the computer.

Is this still the case with newer models of laptops and computers?
