I cannot find any information on the temperature rating for my Seagate drives. Here are the model numbers:
ST320082 2AS - 200GB SATA
ST380013 AS - 80GB SATA

I would like a link to the technical specifications of those drives.

magu2k:

That is the wrong model, mine is a ST320082 2AS not ST320082 0AS. My drive is not SATA II, just SATA.

You are completely missing my point. If you want to be that picky, then your model doesn't really exist. However, ALL drives of ALL capaacities in their SATA and SATA 2 lines are rated at 0-60 celsius. Interface speed has -NOTHING- to do with it. Spindle speed is what really makes the heat. All of those models are 7200 RPM. As is yours.

0 to 60 degrees Celsius.
I'd say it's similar for most any hard disk.
It is normal for it to be hot to the touch while operating.
