my notebook unable to start. so i take out my HDD and put in a externer HDD cover then i found out that my HDD didnt run at all when u plug in the USB. Anyone could help me on this?

the power supply are shared from USB port.

u cant boot from usb in a notebook i dont think... u would need a bootdisk with usb support first and then to point it to the external. ... and if ur saying the hd wont run in the external on another pc its probably because the other pc isnt defining the hd parameters correctly ... u would probably need to enter bios in the other pc ur trying to read the drive on and manually enter the parameters the same way the notebook defined them ..

I need a little bit more information. Does the external enclosure have its own power supply or is it drawing power from the USB port?
