I got a new PC of intel Pentium D Dual Core 2.66 GHzProcessor, D946GZIS M/B, 1GB RAM, 80 GB HDD! Everything was good but then my HArd Disk read and write speed was down to 3MB and then i installed new windows because of some system software installation was not compeleted and inturrepted in the middle! The after Installing new windows the Speed was again normal
But after a week the system got the same problem and is having this problem at this time also! Please help me I am really worried

contact the shop from where you got that
maybe you need to return the pc

OK!!! Sounds like a virus boot up your system:

Start your computer as soon as it pops up

Press F11 or F12 this should open the choice to choose between boots CD/DVD Internal Drive or Something Else Chose the CD choice, insert you disc it will PRELOAD IT... now click on the FORMAT CHOICE and Format C: then it will install with a clean harddrive and install a fresh copy..

If you got it from a store take it back. Check connections. Sounds like the IDE cable is loose(large one with a red stripe down it) It could also be a virus. Get an antivirus/firewall like mcaffe or norton

Since it's a new PC you have the benefit of being able to call their support. They would be more familiar with their "software restore" process and how to fix bad restores. While they're at it, you can ask about that speed issue.

If your computer is not working properly while you are working on it, it could be a problem with device drivers, hardware or software.
