My boat anchor computer is stuck in MS-DOS. I have tried typing in win, with no results other than it restarts and goes right back into MS-DOS. I also type exit with the same results. Yes my computer is a little old and has about 420 MB of total hard disk space.

I have an older computer (00-01 ish) and I'm looking at upgrading the motherboard. I don't have documentation for the case or original motherboard and its not a major brand (it's a Nobilis). Will a Micro or MiniATX motherboard work in it?

I can't play any sounds on my computer, not CD's, music already on the computer, sounds to videos on the internet, nothing.
I've checked everything I can think of (though, that's not saying much, my knowledge about computers taken into consideration), but can't find anything wrong.
Anyone got any ideas on what it can be, and how to fix it?

Once again, I really don't know a lot about computers so I kinda need to have this spelled out to me...

2) Were both the Tandy 1000 and 2000 considered PCs?

i have a dell dimension 3100 still under warranty and I want to fit in a graphics card so I could play games much better but I heard that if you open the case, the warranty would get void. If this is true, is there anyway that I can add a graphics card to my pc.

I have tried playing DVD's on my compter and the picture is just so static and jumpy and after a minute or too, it just freeze's and I have to close the programme (which then says its not responding)

I have windows media player 11 and media player classic and they both do exactly the same. I have tried to alter the screen resolution (which media player "help" suggested) and actually went onto microsofts mediaplayer help web-site and tried everything it suggessted to no avail. In the end it just said I should take my computer to a computer technician..

Can anybody please give me any other things to try

I have AMD Duron Processor, 807MHz with 640MB of RAM with XP Pro SP2.

My computer at work is a lower spec than mine and that is fine playing DVD's, I do not get it at all, Please help if you can
