control/alt/delete keys open task manager look at performance tab memory total and memory used are on display

theres no such thing as "space left on ram" you dont write to ram, it's not like a hard drive.
what you most likely mean is how much ram memory you have free to do other things.

task manager will show most of the info you really need.
anything using too much power can be stopped from here

Either use windows system information...
START>PROGRAMS>ACCESSORIES>SYSTEMTOOLS>SYSTEM INFORMATION

then go to the memory section
or

START>RUN
enter cmd in the run box and hit enter. this will open a command window where you can enter the command 'mem' no quotes
results kinda look like this
C:\Documents and Settings\gsmit02>mem


655360 bytes total conventional memory
655360 bytes available to MS-DOS
633376 largest executable program size

1048576 bytes total contiguous extended memory
0 bytes available contiguous extended memory
941056 bytes available XMS memory
MS-DOS resident in High Memory Area

Right click on the task bar at the bottom, select "Task Manager", then click the "Performance" and look at the group box labeled "Physical Memory (k)"

open your task manager (right click your taskbar select "Task Manager")
then go to "performance" tab
there you will see cpu usage and history blah blah
down near the botton right you will see a display called "Pysical Memory -----> Total + Available is what you seek
