Check the free space available on Hard Disk. Use Stinger to clean any virus on your PC. Hope you have antivirus installed on PC.

McAfee AVERT Stinger

Stinger is a stand-alone utility used to detect and remove specific viruses. It is not a substitute for full anti-virus protection, but rather a tool to assist administrators and users when dealing with an infected system. Stinger utilizes next generation scan engine technology, including process scanning, digitally signed DAT files, and scan performance optimizations.

First you need allot of space to defrag your harddrive. If your drive is almost full it will not work. Second System files cannot be defraged it will come up as unmovable data. I hope this helps

Maybe, your HardDisk is almost full...

Clean your HD and remove unused files or programs.

After, lunch PC in safe mode and try to defrag...

if you want, you can try to download Diskeeper (for example 10, that is free...) it's a good software to defrag.
It can improve your PC .
(is possible download the trial version of Diskeeper 2007...)

Bye from Italy :-)

I'm gonna assume you have you have very little free space left on your hard drive. You need a good portion of free space available on the hard drive for it to be able to move files around.

Some system files can not be moved.

It may cause less memory in drive which u want to defreg. Delete some unnecessary software or programs first from Control Panel - add/remove program list to release efficient memory in drive to defreg. then try degregmentation. It will work.
Thanks

Start your computer in safe mode and then run defrag.

If it still gives you problems, run check disk and let it automatically fix your drive.
