I need to do so because I plan to wipe all the memories from my computer and reinstall windows so it can run faster.

You don't need to remove windows. The windows installation (XP cd) will wipe the drive if you tell it to during install.

"Kyle S" is correct, however, the re-installation process will give you the option to "repair" or format & install.

It will not do it automatically ... just choose the "format" option.

restart you pc > keep pressing F8 until a log in screen appreas. Choose the dos option and enter: format c:/
