The computer that i have now is all messed up... the SHIFT key on the left of teh keyboard is missing and messed up. the right arrow key is also missing and messed up. the cd drive is not working and the computer itself is really slow!! it has like 380MB's of storage and its using like 750MB's!! yea, its slow!! I'm getting a new one sometime but i wanted to know what one you think that i should get???

MUST HAVE AT LEAST 1GB OF MEMORY
MUST HAVE AT LEAST 80GB OF HD SPACE
IF ITS WINDOWS MUST BE VISTA HOME PREMIUM,BUISNESS,OR ULTAMITE OR WHTEVR.
IF IT'S MAC IT MUST BE MAC OS X TIGER
MUST BE UNDER $1000
MUST HAVE A DRIVE THAT READS DVD'S
MUST HAVE A WIRELESS INTERNETCARD IN IT

recomaend what you think is the best for my needs!
oh yea, i will also buy a program called MICROSOFT OFFICE 2007 STUDENT AND TEACHER (OR NEWEST STUDENT AND TEACHER VERSION)

o yea, its a laptop and im not replaceing them things! im getting as new computer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You probably aren't going to find a mac for less than $1000, unless it is used.

You might be able to go a few more bucks and get a mac.

My dad just got a Sony VAIO for around $1000 that is pretty spiffy. Dell makes a number of laptops for less than that too.

All of your requirements are right in line with what is available. Unfortunately you might be stuck with Windows Vista if you get a PC though - which is going to take a few months to get debugged, and seems to be a resource hog (at least based on its minimum requirements). I've been told that it uses the resources better - but people say strange things when they get suckered into paying money for an O/S that doesn't do anything substantial that the previous version can't do.

Watch Staples, Best Buy, etc. they are running deals with different manufacturers with Pentium 4 dual processors or equivalent, 1 gig memory 80 to 100 GB Hd, Vista Premium, and DVD+ and - burners for 599 to 799 bucks and you take with you!

I'd check with Tigerdirect.com and see what they have in barebones deals. You can build it to your liking from that! ;-)=
