just got new pc amd 64 processor 3500 2.21 ghz with nvidia geforce 7800gt card.
Unfortunately i am struggling with drivers for some of my peripherals. i run Windows XP pro 64bit. So i am now deciding to format and put my old windows XP home addition on. will i require different chipset and graphics drivers and if so where can i get em from ?

I'm going to upgrade windows xp (home) to vista and i'm not really sure which version to get.. which would you guys recommend? heres some info about my pc (except i now have a 160gb hard drive)

I recently installed the Razer Barracuda AC-1 and am using the HP-1 surround sound headphones. Every once in awhile, when playing a game, there will be pops and cracks, sometimes a very loud buzz.

I believe I've completely removed all my previous soundcard drivers and software (using Driver Cleaner Pro) and tried both versions of Razer drivers.

It could be a set-up issue as I have little (or no) experience with surround sound. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

I downloaded Microsoft Update for my computer, but now it has slowed down loads and keeps crashing! 99% of the cpu usage is going to a thing called scvhost.exe, does anyone know what this is, or what i can do to fix the computer, i tried restoring pc, but is still slow, and cpu is working hard on system idle process!

fs x is freezing up my computer an HP a1118x. The processor is an amd 2.4 gig, 1.5 gig ram, 128 megs video memory. The game usually loads pretty quickly but when running some of the missions or when banking the plane using high resolution video stttings the computer will freeze up. I have to power off to restart the computer. Do I have to upgrade the video card? Is this hurting the computer? Should I reinstall the game? Thanks

I have a PC currently running windows XP professional. I am studying architectural design and need to upgrade my pc in order to run applications such as autocad 2007 smoothly. My motherboard is Intel® Desktop Board D915GAV i have 1gb of ram consiting of 2x 512mb. i wish to upgrade the process and was thinking of Intel Pentium® 4 650, 3.4 GHz would this be possible and if so how exactly do you remove the heat sink and fan and old processer? is this easy? how do you instal the new processer? can you reuse the old heat sink and fan?? or will this need to be replaced??

My CPU suddenly refuses to boot-up.
The power light is on and the cooling fan turns on too
The last time it was working fine I was using Windows media player which froze completely after I tried opening a media file (which was very abnormal as I have been using the file many times before) I have also noticed that although the power light in the front is working, the HD light does not blink. I am not much of a PC expert and any help/suggestions will very much be appreciated. Thanks

I have a Dell computer and it is currently running Windows XP. I ran a program called Tune-up System Optimizer and it says that I have a 64 bit processor but my computer is only using 32 of the available 64 bits. I want to check this out for myself...I have looked under everything I can think of in the control panel but I have not been able to locate any information that says anything about 64 or even 32 bits.

Is it possible to delete old files permanently so that no one can recover or access them? I am thinking of getting a new computer, but don't want people having access to personal information. I thought about deleting sensitive files, then defraging the harddrive, and copying over the hard drive with mpegs which occupy a lot of space, deleting these files again, and then doing another defrag, by doing these steps, well I complete remove the sensitive files so no one can access them?
