You will have to open-up the casing and have a geek look at the main board, it should have a date referring to it's manufacturing.

Or

Click on Start Menu > Programs (or All Programs) > Accessories > System Tools > System Information

Once the system information window appears, notice the BIOS date (at the System Summary), if it's more than year ago, then your PC is likely to be more a year ago.

Or

If it's an Intel based PC, download chipset identification tool from:
http://downloadcenter.intel.com/scripts-df-external/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldId=11691&lang=eng

Using this utility, you will know most of the details about your main board (mother board) then ask someone when this model was launched first, this will help you determing how old the PC is.

Hope this helps!

ask the seller for the original receipt, alternately open up the case and have a look on the top of the cd or dvd drive they usually have a date of manufacture on them which would give a rough idea as to the date the system was built, you could also check the date of the bios version if it is 3 years old then a good chance the pc is.you could also check online for release dates of that particular model.there are also other ways such as look at properties on folders etc to see when they were created.all give clues as to the age of the machine.

If its a DELL, its super easy, just go to support.dell.com and put in the service Tag number, and if it gets you somewhere, its true. If not, thats false.
Depending on the Manufacturer, also, if you check the SN and Model number, most good manufacturers have a way to tell when the PC was made, they may even have an install/build date inside the PC>

You could get the serial number off of it and go that that company web site and look it up in their support database. It should tell you what year it was manufactured.
