I just finished getting a laptop setup perfectly.

Now, All I want to do, is make a backup onto a DVD, incase I need to restore the entire laptop again.

Is there software to easily (EASILY!) make a DVD that is bootable and it overwrite the hard disk?

What do you not like about it? I just got a brand new PC that came with Vista. So far I love it, except I noticed that certain windows cannot be maximized like they could be for Windows XP. For instance, I tried playing Qbert in yahoo games but couldn't make the window full screen. Is anyone else experiencing any issues?

I recently bought a computer from dell.com It was the XPS 410 , the basic gaming system. I had it all, it cost over $1,000. I had to return it because it had system memory failure. I got a full refund thank god! I was wonder should I just build one, and where should I look for parts? Online or off line, I live in New York state, so if anyone lives near me, they could give me a place to go for parts? Not NYC, cause it is too far from me....

Earlier today, I was able to watch a video on YouTube, and the sound was just fine. Several hours later, I went to play a game, and I found I had no sound at all. I then tried playing some music. Nothing. I went and turned my mic on to see if I could hear any ambient sounds (like rubbing my fingers on the boom of it), and still nothing. Then I went to plug in my speakers, and still no sound. Mind you, I keep the volume at max at all times... did I blow out my sound card?

Mine was a Radio Shack - Tandy Sensation2:
486 MOBO
4-Megs of memory
200MB hard drive
Windows 3.0
Built-n Stereo Speakers (wow!)
Floppy Drive
A CDROM 2x (worth $250.00 at the time)
33mHz CPU Intel processor
2400 modem

This was the best Store-Bought PC at the time! Took a few minutes just to boot up.

The header on the MoBo has a 4-pin header (Speaker - NC - Ground - +5V)
NC = No Connection.

I have a PowerMac G3 266/96MB that keeps freezing when MAC OS 9.2 starts up. It finishes loading the system software and I can see the desktop with my hard drive and the trash can, but I can't open anything. Double clicking on the hard drive or trash can does not open anything and I can't get any of the menu items to open up. What is wrong and how do I fix it?

Please help.

Ok I'm pretty sure if wil but the whole San Diego thing throws me off. I know Intel has Prescott and blah blah.

Here is what I cuurently have
Mother Board is ECS KN1lite 939 Socket It Currently has an AMD Athlon 64 3400+ 2.2ghz.
The MB Specs say it will take 64 and 64FX. It doesn't say an X2, but from what I can tell the FX is better for gaming

I'm looking to change out the processor and New Egg has an FX for $200
AMD Athlon 64 FX-55 San Diego 2.6GHz 1MB L2 Cache Socket
939 Processor

To me it seems like it should be fine, but it's that whole San Diego thing.

Okay, here's the situation. I have installed by mistake some crazy program called NVIDIA. It has given itself an icon in my toolbar. It so-far has affected the appearance of my desktop/color/resolution/fonts, seems to making my computer run a little weird no matter what I do.....things just haven't been right.
I just got this computer brand new from Dell and it wasn't doing this before so I *know* its this weird program.
I have attempted 5 times to delete it from Add/Remove programs. It takes me through the necessary steps and even resarts my computer to complete the uninstall. IT WON"T DIE!!! LOL Everytime I go back to Add/Remove programs, it's STILL there. When I click on the toolbar icon, I can't find anything that would help me get rid of it.

Please, please.....can anyone help me!!

**BTW, we're running Windows XP home edition.

I am looking to buy a laptop for myself, I have a zune mp3 player, I am a sim fanatic, attend college, also a scrapbooker and need photo editing software. I would like to know brand suggestions, memory, hard drive, operating software suggestions. I also want to buy a desktop for my father he is new to today's computers and wants to explore. I currently have a emachines t3104 desktop with amd sempron 3300, 100gb hard drive and 256 md ram. and a dell inspiron 5100 with intel pentium 4cpu 2.80ghz and 256 md ram ( i think 40 g hard drive). I am willing to upgrade either instead of purchasing new. (I need one for my son and one for me) Open to any and all suggestions

I want to switch my hard drives round so that it works with my other computer but when i try to do it i get nothing but a black screen with a flashing line in the top left corner of the screen.. My mother board is M825G V9.2 A or C

M825G V.9.2C - The maxtor 40 gb hard drive i was using with this motherboard was running windows xp (fat32) i am trying to replace that with a hard drive out of a compaq deskpro computer which is maxtor 20gb (ntfs) - whilst keeping windows xp which was running on the compaq deskpro intact i have the hard drive i want to put in it now on this machine running (compaq deskpro) so i can adjust it before moving it over to the m825g but when i put it into the m825g (the one out of the compaq) it does not work.. and the only conclusion i can come to is that this motherboard does not support ntfs?? or does it?? or do i need to install something prior to moving it? or will this not work at all? i do not want to delete windows from the hard drive how can i do this

I am having problems with my home pc. It loads Windows OK but then when it says "detected new hardware, digital still camera" it crashes and I get the dreaded blue screen. I have tried booting in safe mode but pressing F8 doesn't give me an option to load in safe mode, I get the choice of booting with floppy, CD or the "normal". Is there any other way to boot my pc in safe mode?
