If you turn it on and it beeps then it might be your ram.

It depends on your operating system.

In Linux it means that it's finished doing something - like downloading e-mail or installing something. It's pretty normal.

In Windows... it's a bad sign. If you can, back up all the stuff you want to keep and take it into a computer shop.
Beeping sometimes means there's something with the BIOS - the absolute basis of the computer.

LOL. if your gaming and you hold down too many keeys for a while, then it should beep or do a continuous beep

It means it's going to blow up any second now, so run for your life. Well, that's what it means in the movies. Then the hero will come in and cut the blue wire, (or was that the red wire?) with only 1 second left on the clock.
