Usually, they come with a trial version of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint,...). They will stop working after 30 or 60 days. I forget which. You can then buy the full version. If you don't want to buy the full version, you can get a free alternative at: www.openoffice.org

The answer to this question is... It depends. If you buy a low-end "value priced" model, these programs will not be installed, or you might get a 90-day trial (the program will work for 90 days, then will go into some type of reduced function mode). If you are a teacher, student, or parent of a student, you can the Student Teacher edition of Microsoft Office. If you buy a computer that is a little more expensive, they usually have more software preinstalled. Also, if you just want the functionally of these programs, you can try Open Office (it is free and can do most, but not all, the functions of the major Office suites out there). For more information on that, visit http://www.openoffice.org.
Good luck, and I hope this helps.

There will be a trial version, with limited capabilities. You will have to buy the full program if you want those specific programs. You can also download a program called OpenOffice, which has all the capabilities and is fully compatible, but is completely free. You can download it at www.openoffice.org

You should ask the sales staff at Walmart or Best Buy about what kinds of software are included on which particular computers.

Microsoft Office is waht you need and it usually is not included. If you are a teacher or student the cheapest place to get it is a college campus book store.
