Open the case and look to see what type you have such as PC133, PC100 etc.

Then go here to find out IF you can put in more RAM or not.

Depending on the computer, most old ones can not upgrade to more RAM. Go to these two sites to get info on the computers. Be smart and bookmark for later reference.

open the computer find RAM chips and read them . Read the frequency and capacity. GOTO compusa or any computer store and ask them same kind of frequency with more memory.

Yes, if it doesn't have the maximum it can support. Easiest way is to go to www.memorygiant.com or www.crucial.com and have them scan your computer and tell you what you need. I find memorygiant is usually a little cheaper.

You can go to bestbuy, or circuitcity and just buy some. But if you know how much you need, you can order it online for cheaper at egghead.com
