go to the nvidia website and donwload drivers.

http://www.nvidia.com/page/home.html

whatever other drivers you need, just find out the make, model of the device and go to the website or do a search at any of the following sites:

http://www.tucows.com/
http://www.download.com/
http://www.driverfiles.net/

good luck

Don't take a backwards step and reinstall Windows XP Home Edition. You'll find that you'll have exactly the same type of 'problem'.

What you need to do is identify the components (hardware) that make up your computer. I suggest downloading a program like Belarc Advisor (http://www.download.com/Belarc-Advisor/3000-2094_4-10007277.html), which will give you a comprehensive breakdown. You then visit each individual manufacturer's site and download the respective driver.

If you are unable to find the respective manufacturer's website, visit http://www.driverguide.com

You have to register here, but it's free, and they have hundreds of thousands of drivers available, be they for dated equipment or up-to-date equipment.

I think it is better to get new peripherals with their drivers on CD
