i have a router and that i have secured it. though whenever one of the pc has been turned off, just want to know how would i know if that pc is still using my router connection...

i had computer issues and i had limewire then well i had a guy fix it and he totally wiped it clean. well i downloaded and reinstalled limewire again and havent been able to use it since.HEEEELLP!

when i try to access files of my network computer, it says" its not accessible you do not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the adminstrator of this server to find out if you have access permisions" what does that mean and how do grant permission?

i have 2 desktops which are connected through ethernet wires. i have a laptop which is wireless. i also have a dlink router. my printer is connected to one of the desktops and i was wondering how i can print a document from my other 2 computers so it will come out from the same printer. do i have to setup a network ro something? if i do can u explain how to set it up?

I have an older (2001) dell dimension desktop with SBC DSL connection via USB. My Dell doesnt have ethernet ports. I just bought an ativa router for a new laptop. Can I run the connection to the Dell via USB and to the new laptop via ethernet cord to the ativa router?

This is the scenario.
Internet sharing .

I get web access from a wireless network. I use a wireless adapter to get access and i want expand it so tht some other computers can get web access too. The network is set up using a wireless router.I can transfer files within the network.But i dont get internet access on the server(i.e the system which has the wireless adapter) when both the adapter and the Nic are enabled. I have to disable the Nic to be able to get access. But if i disable the Nic then im not part of the network. How do i solve this problem so tht i can have Web access all over the network?

Im running 2000 professional on the server. i can change the machine to one which has Xp Pro if thts gonna help in any way.

I have heard tht there is a way of assigning priority to Netwrok adapters so tht we can decide which one is to be the gateway to the internet. How do i do that?

Any enlightenment in this issue will be very much Appreciated .

I need to split my cable internet and the second computer is almost 300 ft away. Wireless does not do well in my area. I have cable to both areas already. Is it possible to hook up 2 modems or do I need to bite the bullet and get a really long ethernet cable?

I am not very good with all of this wi-fi malarke and I need some answers.

1. I am on ntl broadband. If I were to set up a wireless network, would I have to change my package to one specifically for wi-fi, or does wi-fi just run off any type of broadband?

Please help. My 3com '3CRWDR100-A72 router has stopped functoning, and is not connecting to the the net.

Light status is as follows:

Power- Yes.
Sync- Not on, and is intermittent
Online- No
Lan- Yes.

I do not get an error message but the router doesn't kick in, and is unable to connect to the net. How do I resolve the problem, as I am reluctant to phone up my ISP as they are absolutely hopeless with tech issues. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
