I'm having trouble sending a file to another Mac on my network via Terminal. I've been trying to use the mv command but that doesn't seem to work when sending across a network. Any help is appreciated.

One day, at some point while I have had my myspace account, I recall that I received in one day several friendship requests that I guess were spammers. Anyway, they soon disappeared from myspace, possibly banned for spamming, but the inflated number count in my list of friends is still high. Maybe they are still in the myspace network only invisible for being banned. However, I would like the number to be corrected so that it is accurate. What can I do to get the number fixed?

Hey,
My work computer connects through a VPN with an MCI client. I was able to connect at home for a year, but suddenly it stopped working. It works at other places with different ISP's. I get a "could not connect to host" when I try wired and wirelessly at home. I called my cable provider, and they said that I needed to find options to turn "NAT traversal con IPSEC Over IP" on. My client has no option like that. What can I do? Thanks!

I'm trying to hook up a new wireless router for my Internet connection. All of the connections are correct, and the setup software that came with the router has been installed successfully. But when I go to "Wireless Network Connection" in XP, it tells me to install the software that came with the router, because XP was not able to set up the connection. Refreshing the network list, etc. does not work since the error message is there the whole time. What could be wrong?

With just a wireless Mac laptop and a DSL connection (via a modem with router built-in). Do I need to buy anything else? I don't need to know how to do it, just what do I need and what connects to what. Thanks!

Just want to see if any unauthorized people are using it. I know I should encrypt it, but can't I can't log into my router, keeps giving me wrong password, even though I've tried reseting it with the button in the back of the router. Anyways, I just want to view traffic on my wireless network.

I'm looking for the answers to the CCNA semester 3 and 4 tests. BEFORE you guys flip out and lecture me about not cheating listen to this- we have less than 11 kids in our class so the the whole semester doesn't count towards getting my CCNA certification and id have to take it the whole semester all over again if I want to get it. And on top of that the teacher is terrible- he doesn't teach he just says to read the curriculum so i have no remorse for cheating in his class.

-I have a router (T-Com Speedport W 700V)
-My connectivity window is showing a number of other secuity enabled connections ( I can connect to other networks)
-My own connection is not detectable, not even appearing on the list- although I can access the internet now directly with a cable from my laptop to the router.
-I have tried restarting, unplugging, repairing, have set up all the points in the configuation (as I can access the net now), the WLAN light is active on my router as well.

What is wrong??

thanks.

I have an interesting scenario. A friend of mine wants to hook up her wireless laptop to DSL through a wireless router. She will be moving and getting DSL hooked up at that point. She also wants to set up the wireless network then. I was wondering what is the easiest way to do this. Should we set up DSL first (or at least dial up internet service) before trying to set up the wireless router, or can the wireless router be set up first without necessarily having internet service. I think she'll be getting a Netgear wireless router. And just to verify, it is not necessary for the router to be hardwired to a computer to set up the wireless network for internet access right? I think I read this as answer to a previous post. Thanks
