How do I set up a network....?

With just a wireless Mac laptop and a DSL connection (via a modem with router built-in). Do I need to buy anything else? I don't need to know how to do it, just what do I need and what connects to what. Thanks!

I guess people don't listen. I ONLY HAVE A MAC LAPTOP AND A DSL CONNECTION (via a modem and router built in). THAT'S IT. I DON'T HAVE A DESKTOP. I WANT TO USE THE LAPTOP WIRELESSLY.

The router is wireless. I want to bring my laptop around the house, and I will only share with the printer that will be hooked up to the router.

do you want a wireless network??? Who are you gonna network with if you only have one computer?
Network is 2 or more computers using the same connection. If you want to go wireless in your home you need a wireless router.

You don't need anything else. If you have a desktop connected directly, you need to enable SHARING (example: Right mouse button click the printer that's attached to the computer and enable SHARING). So once you enable sharing the areas of the computer you want to access, you should be able to see each other's computers. Make sure you enable Sharing on your own computer as well.

If you want to add a printer, you start with ADD Printer - then pick NETWORK printer and browse to the printer (has to be shared to work). It will then copy the proper files and you will be able to print.
