I'm trying to hook up a new wireless router for my Internet connection. All of the connections are correct, and the setup software that came with the router has been installed successfully. But when I go to "Wireless Network Connection" in XP, it tells me to install the software that came with the router, because XP was not able to set up the connection. Refreshing the network list, etc. does not work since the error message is there the whole time. What could be wrong?

I suspect that what you really need is the driver for your wireless card. There shouldn't be anything from the router that needs to be installed on XP.
