I just moved in with a freind. He is currently out of town for buisness. I was trying to connect to his wireless network. I found his account. As i went to connect to enter the WEP passcode, a error message popped up saying that there was no signal. It was clear to me that the signal looked good. To make sure it wasn't my laptop, i attempted to connect to another account, which it immediately asked for the WEP. I don't know what the problem is.. wonder if anyone knows about something like that. HELP! LOL

My phone router arrived today. The instructions said to disconnect the ethernet cable from the DSL modem and to connect it to the router. As a result, I lost my ethernet connection to my DSL. Connecting the blue intenet wire into the DSL modem does not work.

Can anyone help me with this? Also, how do you connect the router to get electrical power in to it. I have never seen an adapter with this kind of prongs.

SBS Server 2003. People from different offices are remoting into server. They need to print from QuickBooks to their local printers. I need to prevent them from printing to the printers that are not located in their office. I have looked for a system policy that will do this, and haven't found it. Any ideas ?

Thanks.

BTW, is there a way to get rid of "Auto" printers brought from remote machines? I don't have control over settings to the remote machines.

I re-installed XP and have gotten all but 1 driver installed - my Ethernet Controller. Add New Hardware recognizes that it exists, but can't find any drivers for it. I was going to download it off the internet, but I have no idea what brand or anything it is. Device Manager just calls it 'Ethernet Controller.' How do I find out?

Thanks for your informed answers!

I have tried several times to get help from BT's help desk, i have added an ethernet card at the help desks suggestion, but still no joy. The internet icon on the task bar says "acquiring network". I have tried a manual config which shows as connected, but i still can't access the internet, the IP address and DNS server addresses used were educated guess work taken from my ADSL modem, can anybody throw any useful suggestions at me, apart from throwing the home hub unit in the bin?

I have installes 2 internal modems in my PC that is running Windows 2003 Server. There is no conflict in device manage. But only one of the modems is working. If I disable one of them, no matter which one, the other will then work.

Could some one tell me why they will not work together and what to do to have two remote access to the server via modems ?
