I have a Linksys router > currently my connection is wide open as anyone with a wireless card could access the internet if in range. How do I just allow my PC and XBOX 360 to have a connection? As in password protected it or something.

Log into your router's web interface (type the router's IP - usually 192.168.0.1 - into a web browser) and enable WEP. You can set a password and then only people who know the password can use your wireless.

Or just plug the computers in with Cat5e cables, and disable the wireless radio altogether.

you will have to get in to the settings of your router. to do this you open up your broser and type in http://192.168.1.1
this is the IP of the router that is if you ahve not changed it, if the IP is different you need to find that out.

when you type this in it should give youa loggin screen, the defualt user and password are
admin

then you should be in the settings of your router, find some place that says wireless. there will be some thing in there that says encription. and i think you can choose your password, then save settings and exit, you may have to restart your router. then when you connect with your computer it will ask for a password and you only have to give it once and then the router should remember the computer.

Go grab your linksys manual or download one from here http://www.linksys.com/servlet/Satellite?c=L_Product_C1&childpagename=US%2FLayout&cid=1118181591233&pagename=Linksys%2FCommon%2FVisitorWrapper and find out how to log on to your router configuration page. Go to the section on wireless security and it will guide you through the process of assigning an encryption method and password for your signal. Once you do that only computers that have the password can log onto your wireless signal.

In your router configuration, you should have the ability to set a WEP password, never leave your wireless internet wide open.
