My phone router arrived today. The instructions said to disconnect the ethernet cable from the DSL modem and to connect it to the router. As a result, I lost my ethernet connection to my DSL. Connecting the blue intenet wire into the DSL modem does not work.

Can anyone help me with this? Also, how do you connect the router to get electrical power in to it. I have never seen an adapter with this kind of prongs.

well first, you connect the modem to the router using a red or blue cable that came with the modem or router. there is only one port you can plug it into and i think it says modem on the router along with a port by itself for the connection. second, your router should have came with a power cord with a built in transformer on the end you plug into the wall, the other end plugs into the back of the router next to usally where the 3 or 4 ethernet ports are. the end that plugs in the back is a round plug. it looks similar to the straight plug the is use on cordless phone power cords...hope you didn't screwed on you vonage or what you have...

Hi. Power everything off. Connect your PC to the Linksys router and the router to it's power supply (usually a wall transformer.) Turn on the router, then turn on the PC. If you are in a 220 volt part of the world you will need a transformer/converter.
