I know there is a way to have my workstation connect to another computer on the network such as my exchange server and obtain the time from the exchange server. Anyone have this info? I used to have a batch file that ran that would take care of this.

My laptop has a wireless card and I want to buy a router so I can surf around the house rather than being restricted to my bedroom. I have a 256kbps ADSL internet connection. Will either of these routers work for me?

I have just subscribed to Tiscali broadband and want to set up a wireless network at home. I have a Linksys WAG54GS modem/router.

The internet is working as it should on my laptop wirelessly but I can't connect my PC to the internet using a wired connection. I have plugged the router into my ethernet adaptor on the PC. I am wondering if the problem has something to do with the ethernet adaptor not being installed properly? If so, how do I install this? I don't really have any ideas I'm afraid, not very techo wizzy!! I can't log onto the internet to configure the modem (192.168.1.1) so I'm at a loss of what to do next.
Any ideas/suggestions for me to try would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks very much
Kate

I was told that the internet works by tiny trained monkeys running up and down the wires delivering messages. When it runs slow, this is because the monkeys are getting tired. Is this true?

I recently bought a laptop and i also got a wireless router for internet. I purchased the geek squad installation service to set up my router. Is this something that is pretty easy that i can do myself or should i still have them come out to set it up? It would save me a lot of money.

I use one PC as a "server" running XP Home. It's not used, it just sits on the network for data storage. All of the drives are shared, so all of the data can be accessed/deleted from the other machines on the network. When the files are deleted from the 'server', using another computer on the network, where do they go? They're not in any of the recycle bins.
