Select an appropriate drive, in which you installed the operating system->Documents & Settings Folder->Select appropriate user(like: Administrator,All,with your name)->Desktop Folder. there you can find your desktop stuff.

goto my computer
then c drive(whichever drive u have ur OS on)
select documents and settings
select the user
thr u find a icon named desktop
and thats the solution
