Call SBC service and ask them to check your phone line. You might have a faulty connection on the incoming line or there might be a break in it.
That happened to me. I had my connection go on and off and finally lost the service for almost 4 days while they repaired the line. I also have SBC dsl with a wireless router. They finally took care of the problem.
Also note that if you lose your connection for an extended period (let's say a day or two, and SBC is aware there's a fix it going to be done, you should also call the billing dept and ask for those few days as a credit on your account.

My first suggestion would be to hook the connection up to one computer only and see if you lose connection. IF So, contact SBC and ask them to look at the aDSL router. If you are able to maintain your connection on the one PC, then hook the router back up without the internet connection, and see if you can transfer some files between computers, and if so, will it maintain connection.... try moving a large file, such as a movie. Should that fail, then it is your router that is the issue. Try updating the firmware. You'll find that option on the router's admin page. It's something like 192.168.0.1, or something like that. you can commonly find the ip address and the username and password somewhere on the router or in the book. Good Luck.
