Try messing with the direction of the the antenna(s). Mine has 2 and I found out that if I point one vertical and one horizontal, it works the best.

Walls/ceilings/floors can cause a single to loose between 5 - 90 feet of range. Keep in mind that a 1.5 foot thich wall appears about 3 feet with a 45 degree signal angle. That size increases as the angle decreases. Floors are usually at least a foot thick and if it's a concrete floor...

You can try to get a different antenna. I "boosted" my signal so that I can get it about five houses away down the street by adding a 7dBi antenna to the access point. The antenna connects directly to the AP (dlink) and I didn't use the little base that came with it as the signal loss through the cable was too much.

On your router, go to the setup (http://192.168.0.1 enter login and password) and find "Advanced", then "Wireless Settings".

There you will see a "Enable eXtended Range(XR) Feature", click on that, and on "Apply", then go back to "Setup" and "Wireless Settings", there under "Wireless Network" set it to Mode: Auto 108 Mbps and "Apply".

All that will set your router to maximum transmitted power on channel 6 using best capabilities of 108 Mbps with extended range.

If that doesn't help, you can try an external antenna on both sides, those antennas are expensive though. - Best of all? Stay away from wireless, if you can, run a cable directly from one router to the other, that never fails, and you'll get always the maximum speed.

I hope this helped somehow.
