Please help. My 3com '3CRWDR100-A72 router has stopped functoning, and is not connecting to the the net.

Light status is as follows:

Power- Yes.
Sync- Not on, and is intermittent
Online- No
Lan- Yes.

I do not get an error message but the router doesn't kick in, and is unable to connect to the net. How do I resolve the problem, as I am reluctant to phone up my ISP as they are absolutely hopeless with tech issues. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I always like to start from the beginning, and powering down and unplugging everything. Start from the wall, phone line, filter if needed. Power on the modem, wait for a couple of min. then the router, then PC. If that doesn't do it, go to step two.
