I own a gateway pc,i was wondering is it possible to install MCE on my pc even tho its not mce oriented,like would it still work on my pc and all else.Cuz i thought about upgrading to it since i own a xbox 360.What are your thoughts?

I would recommend that you visit the Microsoft web site and search on Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 to determine the minimum requirements needed to run it properly.

Your PC does need to be a somewhat above average to run Media Center efficiently.

you could establish a media connection between xbox360 an xp using windows media player 11, if you plan to stream video then just install tversity as well (wmp 11 and tversity are free). i personally have mce + 360 media center connected, but that is the xp work around it works great from what i can gather. if you nned more info ask for help here:
