I know that 4WD can be turned on whenever needed on my Ford truck, but my dad is thinking about buying and AWD 1997 Chevy Astro and he wants to know if the AWD can be turned off and not stay on all the time.

I would think (hope) that police go thru some sort of psychological testing to see if they are prone to violent crime. But I keep noticing especially in the Dallas-Fort Worth area police getting charged, caught and involved in violent crimes and sexual crimes especially. I know there is not much incentive not to do it for them as for a normal person because the punishment is severly less like paid leave, 1 year, 5 year probation etc. But shouldn't we screen police more heavily. I actually call someone now especially when my wife is in the car if a cop pulls me over just to have some to call 911 if need be and to have a witness, just when I am pulled over (rare) and sometimes even if I see a police officer get in the lane behind me without pulling me over. I am not trying to be hateful but the DFW police honestly scare the crap out of me now days. Does anyone have some logic for why so many police seem to be committing horrific crimes at such record levels.

I was driving this morning, I had gotten in a turn lane to turn at a low speed. My passenger tires only touched the lane markers on the sides because I was already in the lane. However my front tires had a swell like an egg on it and a smaller swell on the back. These markers did not show up easily, they are white on wide white lane lines. I did not see the first three which are separated about 25' before the three at the front of the lane. The markers start when the lane starts, they stand about 3.5" off the ground and are about 7" wide. My tires had already started cracking in the rubber by the time I got to a tire shop about a mile away, the shop told me I was lucky they didn't blow before I got there. I learned this happens alot and this the City of Richardson Texas never reimburses anyone even though they know this is a know problem and that they continue to place more of them when other cities have removed them.
Does anyone know if I can get reimbursed for the damage.

We unplugged the battery because my gauges weren't working at all, and the air bag light wouldn't go off. All the fuses are ok, but when we unplugged the battery so it could reset, the car will crank and run for 2 seconds and something shuts it off. I have anti-theft on it, so I think its either my anti-theft or its my CPU. I can't firgure it out, if it is my computer than how much does a new one cost? Is there a way they can fix it with out a new one? Or how do I get pass the anti-theft, if thats the cause?

I have a 1995 Jeep Wrangler with 106,000 miles. Everything on the Jeep works flawlessly except for the shifting. I have the original clutch on it still, and when I try to shift, it seems like the gears are sticking. Its hard to get the stick into each gear. Not only that, I have to push far down with the clutch to change gears. On my 2000 Wrangler, I barely have to engage the clucth. Could my clutch be going out?

The helicopter has a line hanging from the bottom as if it picking up something but I keep seeing it drop things into various fields around my house. It is not very far from the power lines. This is extremely unusual in my area and I can't get close enough to see what there dropping. any ideas?
