Are there any laws concerning older working 18-wheelers, and at what age they must be retired?

Just purchased first vehicle...a 2006 Honda Ridgeline! Last week while at work on an oil rig a Halliburton tanker backed right into it ripping the front grill off and putting a scratch on the right front rim. Halliburtons insurance agent just called and told me to go get a few estimates on the damage (probably around the area of $3000.00). I had planned on keeping the vehicle till it reached around 85,000 miles and sell it.....so here is my question. Now that they wrecked my vehicle is it going to show as wrecked or salvaged when they run the vin # when I plan to sell it. If so should I try to get Halliburton for all their worth and where should I take the vehicle for estimates? Whole in the wall body shop or franchised dealership? Thanks for your help!

I don't know what I should do. I had my car repo. I did this cause of my financial status. Well, getting to my point. I repo my car, GMAC sold the car. The total of the car I had left is
38K around there and GMAC sold it for I think it was 19 K. Now they asking me to pay the remaining of around 20k something like that include the towing cost and all the other charge. In this case what should I do, pay for it or what?? I don't know anything pretty new to all this. If I have to to pay for this.I don't think I can, due to my financial status. It was a big mistake I ever done. I mess up my credit and all. Your response is greatly appreciated. Thanks....

My contract hire company seem to have failed to send out my tax disc (for period beginning 09/07). I've checked with the DVLA and the vehicle IS taxed, but I'm getting varying information as to my situation in the eyes of the law if I wish to drive it. Can anyone help clear this up?

I've heard that there is more pollution involved in the manufacturing of the car battery cells than of the actual cars usage. Is this true?

I was watching a tv documentry about an ambulance crew in Liverpool, UK and they were going on a red call to very ill child who had stoped breathing. Well on the way they had to go down a narrow street with parked cars either side so the road was a narrow one lane road. While they went down there on blues and sirrons a blue metro just stoped in the middle of the narrow street and just sat there for ages. Inside the car were two OAP's wife and couple who thought the ambulance was a polie car pulling them over so they just stoped and waited. after a few mins the paramedics got out and told them to move!!! Do you think old people should have to re-take thier driving test ??? I DO!!!

I mean, cars have gears and gearboxes to increase speed by utilising the revolutions made by the motor and transfering that to the wheels. But boats just seem to have a single forward and reverse gear. Wouldn't the boat move faster if, like a car, it progressed through a range of gears?

i bought a new car. it had a scratch. dealer said they would fix it. I brought it back, and they fixed it but it took 3 hours of buffing and repolishing. In process, i found a small 1/2 inch dent on the roof, they said they would fix that too. I feel like i bought 'damaged goods', and they should give me a new car. However, dealer says "all new cars have some blemishes, and we will fix it". The scratch they fixed looks ok, but not perfect. I feel like i've been duped.

I have a 2001 oldsmobile alero with about 130K miles on it. About a month ago I found out I blew the head gasket and was told it could be fixed but that it would be pricey and eventually I would have to also replace the bottome of the engine and then whateva else was found wrong with the car. I was told it would be cheaper to find another used car but what should i do with this one.

Should I attempt to sell it and if so what would be a good price for it. The car also has a small dent on the front end and needs a new tire. If i decided to junk it, would i get money for it, or would i be better off donating it to purple heart or some place like that?

Battery is strong. Starter is no problem. I changed the distributor. It cranks but it just won't start. For about a week before it stopped starting, when I crank, I had to press the gas pedal slightly to fully start the car. What could be the problem?

I need a first car, I only plan on driving it for a year or so then i'll finance a newer one..but I was looking at a 1999 Chevy Malibu with 136,000 miles on it..

I read some things that said Malibus are really bad cars, but some also said that they will last if they are maintained well..

So idk? Help. Thanks.

I rarely see Harley riders running down other brands here unless they are provoked, while riders who own other types of bikes seem to hate harleys for no reason, or are still stuck on bad production models from 30 years ago. The club I ride with welcomes all makes of bike as long as they are safe and at least 250 cc. I have owned suzuki, honda, yamaha, and harley, and have found good and bad in all of them. Riding styles are personal preferences, and it makes little sense to run down someone just because they don't ride like you do. We ride because we love it, not so we can show up someone else.

I'm 17 and I just started driving 5 months ago, it's still hard for me to stay in my lane. My mom says it's because I should hold the wheel with one hand not two, but I feel like I don't have complete control over the car with just one hand on the wheel. What can I do to make it easier to not swerve so much?
