My older truck, 2002 Dodge Ram 1500, overheated and the radiator busted at the seam. So got a new radiator put in and a thermostat and PCV valve, started home and it overheated in like 2 miles, so parked it and left it for several hours then came back and tried to make it home. Within a half mile the muffler was glowing red and it shot flames out the tail pipe. So what could be the cause of this, I have heard that it could be a head gasket, a catalytic converter, or a waterpump. What do you think it is? It has 130,000 miles on it.

When I first take off the transmission seems to slip and then SLAM into gear. I checked the Trans. fluid level and it's fine. It does this 2-3 times when first taking off then the problem goes away. It's worse when the car is cold.

I have 2, 20 year old Fords that today are 3 x's the truck this dodge is. When the Dodge breaks down, I hook one of my Fords to it and continue on. If this is Dodges way of SCREWING the comsumer. This is one CONSUMER that Dodge will never get another dollar from.

My Dodge started smoking excessively after Dodge flashed the ECM with the supposedly "latest and greatest" flash program. The fuel mileage also dropped 1mpg after the flash. It doesn't smoke at road speed, except under heavily acceleration, and smokes heavily at slow speed acceleration. The air cleaner is brand new. Any ideas?

this is a vehicle i tow behind road tractors. i have to disconnect the battery when it is being towed. the other day i towed it from Boston to Youngstown, OH. when i reconnected the battery the ABS lights and brake lights on the dash where on and the speedo won't work under 25 MPH. once i hit 25 mph it works fine. what has happened. the cruise still works and brakes are fine. Is it possible that when i was towing in the rain and salt/ sand covered roads that something has gotten dirty causing this? i hope it's a easy fix. have already looked at getting new ABS sensors but they are $185 each and don't really want to spend that kinda money if that's not what's wrong. this is a 1999 dodge ram 1500 with a 5.9l. it has 136000 miles and runs great. i love this truck and i know alot of people will keep on driving it the way it is but i have this hang up about the idiot lights. when it's 2:00 am and you've been driving awhile those lights tend to make my mind wonder if i have a major problem.

Im very intrested in getting a newer dodge ram 1500 regular cab 4x4. . I'm not sure if anyone has had firsthand experience but it seems like a used ram is a lot cheaper without the hemi. Would something else still be quick and enjoyabe . Like a different v8. Or is it not worth sparing?

I am building a 1970 Dodge Truck given to me by my father when I was 15. Like most people I have been buusy. But things are different and I need 2 things a place to get parts. Somewhere I might possibly can order a magazine just for the years mentioned above. The years are compatible. And secondly I am looking for a good 225 Slant Six block and head thats all I need. But it seems to be that the motor is a hard find used. Junkyards near me are no go. If I could order a new block reasonable that would be good. Because a complete engine is $2500. And I cant spend that right now and rebuild the truck as well. Any help would be appreciated. Happy New Year To All.

I have to keep the engine at high rpms to keep it running. It runs ok with more than half a tank. What could be the problem? It is a 2001 dodge durango 5.9 R/T. It won't idle during this time either.

My dad and I are rebuilding his Dodge charger and there are some very hard to find parts. If anyone can help I'd be greatful. I've checked a slew of sites with no avail. We need some chrome and rear taillight left side. Also the motor for the left side hide away head lights. Thanks for any support you can give me.

The gage in the dash that shows the battery charging is my problem, When I start the truck the gaug goes over 1/2 way.
In about 10 seconds it goes back over to the left all the way. It starts fine everytime. At night the lights dont go dim at all. And of course when this happens I get the Check gauges light.
Any thoughts
