I doubt that you actualy can even drive much less have a Dodge. Mommy and Daddy probably drive a ford and you are just jealous of the greatness of a Dodge.

Well if as you say the Cummins is such a great motor then how come your saying it keeps breaking down.I own a Ford with the 7.3 diesel and it's a piece of crap that constantly needs something.I have had 2 Dodge trucks with cummins one was a 91 and the Ford I now have is an 89 with less than 90,000 original miles on it.The 91 Dodge is now owned by a friend and has over 240,000 miles on it and it is 10x the the truck of any fraud I mean Ford truck that I have owned.

Can't really help you if all you're going to do is complain.

What exactly happens when your Dodge dies? I'm just curious.

Try out http://www.dieseltruckresource.com/ register for free and post to the forums. Many times your problems can be easily solved. There are a couple of no start problems that simply require one wire to be moved to prevent chafing. This is a common problem and will really frustrate a person that doesn't know why its happening. Fix that one problem and everything is just fine.

So how about posting back to your question or to the Diesel Truck Resource and maybe yours will be a super easy and free fix like the no start wire!

The Cummins is one of the best engines ever put in a vehicle.
Ford's base engine in the F650 and F750 was the Powerstroke, the 5.9 Cummins along with a 7.2 CAT were the upgrade engines. Also you never hear of someone putting a Powerstroke in a Dodge or Chevy, but you hear about folks wanting to put a Cummins in a Ford or Chevy all the time. There are two or 3 businesses that are dedicated to this.

The 7.3L Powerstroke and the old 6.9 are also one of the best ever in my opinion. I like the 6.9 even better than the 7.3!

The 6.0 and the 6.4 are some of the worst, poor fuel mileage and reliability. The 6.4 is an improvement but they have their share of problems.

As far as everything else I do like the Ford interior a little better but its not leaps and bounds ahead of the Dodge. Old comments about the sheetmetal being thicker on the Ford are unfounded as well. Many have run tests with a micrometer and found all 3, Ford, Chevy and Dodge, have the same thickness.

Finally, before someone says it, Ford does NOT own Cummins!

I have stuck with Mopar cars for more than 40 years...especially Dodges, although I have had little to no problems out of any of mine, that is not to say that, perhaps, you got a "lemon" in the purchase of the one you have.

Think about it: If the Cummins transmission is so good, why can it not assist the engine in your truck to run? Engines break down sometimes when the transmissions are not equipped to be compatible. Perhaps the Dodge truck weighs more than the transmission should be pulling.

Fords may be better trucks; dodges may be better cars (i.e., Chargers, Neons, R/T's, Coronets, Magnums, etc).

Perhaps you can find out if there may be a 'recall' on that particular truck, if it it rather new...sometimes there develops a 'recall' on older vehicles, too. If so, you may be able to turn the think back in to the manufacturer/seller.

Write to the Chrysler Corporation and let them know your frustration. They make you an offer you can't refuse.

Good Luck!! Sorry about your problems with the Dodge.
